‘How I Met Your Mother’ Cast Bids Emotional Farewell During PaleyFest
Fans of How I Met Your Mother were treated to not only a teaser of the season finale at The Paley Center for Media's PaleyFest, they were also treated to a mini strip-tease act from Neil Patrick Harris!
On Saturday night, NPH, who couldn't be in attendance, surprised fans by Skyping in from New York. "I'm sorry I couldn't be there," he told the screaming crowd. "It kind of guts me."
Before taking off his shirt, the 40-year-old actor shouted, "Now I got to go be a rock star everybody!"
During the panel, the cast was asked to discuss their favorite moments from the past nine seasons of the show—and it seemed that everyone was emotional but quick to respond!
"The memory of the show is just going to be one of those montages," Alyson Hannigan, sporting a shoulder-length bob, said. "Everything was so sentimental that week."
The cast gathered to discuss the show's 200th episode and final season on 'The Talk' on Jan. 27.
Due to scheduling conflicts among the cast, the filming of the final episode – set to air March 31 – was forced to be spread out over two weeks time.
Though they had more time than usual to enjoy their last days together on set, it was hard to believe their cast tradition of meeting in the hallways before table reads would soon just be a memory of the past.
"That's when it finally hit me was at the table read," cast member Josh Radnor said.
In order to wipe those tears away, everyone received custom tissues at the final read that said: "Let it all out. No questions asked."
How I Met Your Mother has been on air since Sept. 2005 and has earned two Golden Globe nominations.
