Blake Shelton Questions ‘the Timing’ of Miranda Lambert’s Marriage Announcement
When the news dropped that Miranda Lambert secretly married Brendan McLoughlin, fans were shocked. Another person who was equally as surprised: her ex Blake Shelton. The country crooner, 42, has been happily dating his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, 49, for four years, so it didn’t seem to bother him. However, he questioned why the blonde beauty would make the announcement around Valentine’s Day. Even though the “Tin Man” singer, 35, has taken the next step, don’t expect the Oklahoma native to get down on one knee any time soon. “Gwen has three children to consider and Blake has been extremely aware of this at every step,” an insider dished to Us Weekly. “The timing of Gwen and Blake’s wedding date is a work in progress. Just because Miranda got married in a quickie random situation doesn’t change anything for Gwen and Blake.”
The Texas native revealed on Saturday, February 16, that she is officially off the market. “In honor of Valentine’s Day, I wanted to share some news,” she wrote on Instagram. “I met the love of my life. And we got hitched! My heart is full. Thank you, Brendan McLoughlin, for loving me for … me. #theone.”
Blake also found out about the Grammy winner’s nuptials when the rest of the world did. “Blake was not given a heads-up and doesn’t know her new husband,” a source said. “Since they split they have had almost zero contact.”
Miranda has been unlucky in love before, and it looks like her new hubby has a shady past. Brendan, 27, is a NYPD officer and also a new dad, In Touch previously reported. In November 2018, he reportedly welcomed a child with Kaihla Rettinger — the woman he allegedly cheated on his former fiancée with.
