Hayden Panettiere Sobriety Journey Amid Addiction Struggles

Hayden Panettiere secretly battled opioid and alcohol addiction for years before she finally opened up about it for the first time in July 2022. During a candid interview with People at the time, the Scream actress revealed that she began taking pills at just 15 years old and eventually became so reliant on alcohol that she experienced early signs of liver failure.

Thanks to treatments for depression and a stint in rehab, Hayden was able to turn her addiction struggle into a journey to sobriety. However, many fans became concerned for the Ice Princess star when she was seemingly slurring her words in a September 2024 interview. Hayden’s rep denied that she was under the influence at the time of the interview. However, a source exclusively told In Touch in October 2024 that the Amber Alert actress had been admitted to rehab again.
