She’s not having it! Hailey Baldwin slammed rumors that she responded to Selena Gomez’s new song “Lose You to Love Me” — which is supposedly about her husband, Justin Bieber — on Wednesday, October 23. “Please stop with this nonsense. There is no ‘response.’ This is just complete BS,” the 22-year-old commented in a now-deleted screenshot on Instagram, which was captured by Just Jared.

Earlier that same day, the 22-year-old shared that she was listening to “I’ll Kill You” by Summer Walker on her Instagram Stories. “You don’t want no problems, I wish a bitch would / Tryna come between us, it won’t end up good,” Summer sings. Was Hailey sending a message that Selena, 27, won’t come between her and the 25-year-old Canada native? Apparently not, but fans pointed out that the blonde bombshell was trying to make a point. One person wrote, “Hailey Baldwin is trash for being so shady. Sorry, girl, that you’re so insecure, but you did it to yourself. #LoseYouToLoveMe,” while another echoed, “Hailey Baldwin is showing her true colors after Selena’s song.” A third person chimed in, writing, “Awww … Hailey Baldwin is insecure.”

Justin and Selena dated on and off for several years, and now the brunette beauty is getting vulnerable with her new bop. “I gave my all, and they know it / You turned me down, and now it’s showing / In two months, you replaced us / Like it was easy / Made me think I deserved it / In the thick of healing, yeah,” she sings.

The Texas native hinted that after she and Justin called it quits, he moved on right away with Hailey. The two reconnected at a conference in June 2018, which was hosted by Rich Wilkerson Jr., the pastor of Vous Church. “The common denominator, I promise you, is always church. By then we were past the drama,” Hailey told Vogue in February 2019. “I just gave him a hug. By the end of the conference, he was like, ‘We’re not going to be friends.’ I was like, ‘We’re not?’” One month later, Justin was engaged to the model, and the two legally got married at a New York courthouse in September 2018. The newlyweds later celebrated with their friends and family in South Carolina in September 2019.

It’s not shocking that Hailey would feel the need to respond to all of the drama since people are still invested in his prior relationship. In March, Justin responded to a troll who accused him of not being with Hailey for the right reasons. “Anyone who believes this is mean-spirited or 10 years old or younger because a logical person doesn’t talk or think this way. You should be ashamed of yourself, really. I absolutely loved and love Selena,” he admitted in a lengthy Instagram comment. “She will always hold a place in my heart, but I am head over heels in love with my wife, and she is absolutely the BEST THING that has ever happened to me, period.”

Selena, for her part, got candid about the writing process but didn’t divulge who exactly the tune is about. “This song was inspired by man things that have happened in my life since releasing my last album,” she said in a statement. “I thought it was important to share the music, as I know many can relate to the fact that the road to self-discovery generally comes through the scars in one’s life. I want people to feel hope and to know you will come out the other side stronger and a better version of yourself.”
