Police in suburban Georgia say a woman filled her son’s sippy cup with alcohol and became so intoxicated at an afternoon movie, she was unable to care for her five-year-old son. She also reportedly threatened an officer.

Kristina Gibson was charged with one count each of public intoxication and reckless conduct after attending a matinee at Merchants Walk Cinema with her child. However, she was not arrested at the theater, despite the fact that she allegedly told a police officer who tried to zip up her purse, “I will f–king kill you.” Instead, she was taken directly to a hospital because “she was that drunk,” Sgt. Wayne Delk told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Wednesday morning. “She wasn’t a threat at that point any longer.”

According to the police report, “Gibson filled her five-year-old son’s sippy cup with a strong alcoholic beverage and became intoxicated in the theater.” The report also states she may have taken a tranquilizer because she was unable to “walk, talk, or care” for her son. Employees were notified about what was going on after the child’s cries prompted moviegoers to complain.

Despite Gibson’s attempts to leave the scene, however, employees kept her from getting into her vehicle. Delk said an officer called one of Gibson’s friends to pick up the child from the theater.

On Thursday, Gibson was released from the hospital and booked into the Cobb County Jail. According to the AJC, she was released on $1,000 bail.
