Fans and loved ones of Prince were devastated to learn of his passing on April 21 at age 57 — but Gene Simmons has quite a controversial opinion regarding the musician's death.
In a new interview, the Kiss band mate, 66, called David Bowie's death "tragic" and the "Little Red Corvette" singer's departure "pathetic."

“Bowie was the most tragic of all because it was real sickness. All the other ones were a choice," he told Newsweek, before he alleged Prince's "drugs killed him. What do you think, he died from a cold?”
“I think Prince was heads, hands and feet above all the rest of them," Gene continued. "I thought he left [Michael] Jackson in the dust. Prince was way beyond that. But how pathetic that he killed himself. Don’t kid yourself, that’s what he did. Slowly, I’ll grant you — but that’s what drugs and alcohol is, a slow death.”
He apologized on Twitter for the diss following backlash from his family.

Prince's autopsy was completed the day after his death, though the cause has not been made public.
May he rest in peace.
