Don’t mess with a queen. RuPaul’s Drag Race star Farrah Moan accused Ariana Grande of stealing one of signature costume designs on Wednesday, September 4. The accusation comes days after the 26-year-old filed a $10 million lawsuit against Forever 21 and Riley Rose for similar pretenses of copyright infringement.

“Ariana should give me a cut of that 10M since her team literally sent a pic of me to the designer and paid them to copy my look from as4. (Finally met the designer and got told the Tea),” wrote the 25-year-old on Twitter under a side-by-side image of the two wearing very similar outfits. “I guess stealing from queer artists for profit is fine tho 🤷🏼‍♀️.”

Farrah continued her Twitter take down of the “God is a Woman” singer and posted a gif with the text that read, “You like my look? Gee thanks, just stole it!” clearly playing off of Ari’s song “7 Rings.”

One Twitter user pointed out that perhaps the designer is at fault here and not the pop star, writing, “Doesn’t the fault here lie with the designer knowingly & willingly being paid to copy your look ??” to which the blonde beauty responded, “I don’t fault the designer because the designer she hired was a local queen and paid them ALOT of money to do it, money they couldn’t turn down. And then was honest with me about it. So no, I don’t fault the drag queen that made it at all. Ariana has COIN.”

Another fan pointed out that Farrah’s impersonations could be viewed as copying, but, of course, she quickly shot down that argument. “Celebrity impersonation falls under parody which is 100% legal and I actually have the blessing of the artist I impersonate… so try again sweetie ;).”

Farrah continued her Twitter rant, writing, “But the point is her team also stole. U can attack me all day but it’s not gonna change anything.” She continued, “I can admit I was petty with that gif I posted& I’ll apologize for that but at the end of the day they did what they did. Idc about suing anyone, just needed to put this out there.”

She concluded by saying although the singer’s team may be to blame, all fault always lands on the star. “Last thing ima say on this; the main ppl at fault here are her team. If that queen didn’t recreate it, they woulda found someone who would. When ur team makes a mistake, it falls on u. Idc what the lawsuit is really about, her legal team is accusing theft of likeness, image, w/e .”
