It's hard to believe anyone would confess to their crimes publically, but for some criminals, once they know they're heading to jail, a murder confession to all their Facebook friends and family is their last message to the world before heading to jail or even deciding to end their own lives. There have been many cases over the years of people doing this, from those who share sorrowful apologies, to brazen murderers who outright brag about their crimes.
"The allure of fame, and the excitement of the attention, it's almost like it's intoxicating," N.G. Berrill, an executive director of the New York Center for Neuropsychology and Forensic Behavioral Science explained. "They're willing to foolishly sacrifice their freedom in order to obtain the attention and cause a commotion."
Whatever the case, the trend doesn't seem to be slowing down. Below, eight of the most chilling Facebook confessions.
