Although she's no longer officially a countess, LuAnn de Lesseps, is still trying to hang on to another title – as one of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York.

“I’ve been an instrumental character on the show from the beginning, so I want to be a part of the new season,” the “Chic C’est La Vie” singer exclusively told In Touch Tuesday night in NYC at the Gersh Upfront party hosted by BlackBerry. “I’ve been [on Real Housewives of New York] from the beginning and I love it.”

Once threats were placed by the network to cancel the series if the six women failed to sign new deals, Ramona Singer, Carole Radziwill, Sonja Morgan and Heather Thomson quickly put pen to paper.

"The Real Housewives of New York City will return on Bravo for Season 6," a Bravo spokesperson said in a statement, confirming that "at this point," official cast members include Ramona, Sonja, Carole and Heather.

LuAnn, along with Season 5 newbie, Aviva Drescher, has yet to accept Bravo's offer.

“They want me back,” LuAnn insists. “It’s a matter of negotiating my contract. I brought the franchise to what it is, so I expect to be treated with respect by the network.”

So what if the network can’t make Miss de Lesseps happy?

“Hopefully it will work out between us,” she says. “If not, I’ll move on.”

Whether or not The Countess makes the cut for Season 6, she assures us of one thing: “They’re bringing in a couple new people, but who can replace The Countess?”
