Happy Birthday, Alaina Marie: Everything You Need to Know About Eminem’s Adopted Daughter
It’s time to celebrate! Eminem has captivated fans for years due to his lyrical prowess and chart-topping singles, but he’s also a doting father. The rapper has one biological daughter with his ex named Hailie Scott Mathers, and he also adopted both of her half sisters, Alaina Marie Mathers and Whitney Scott Mathers. Alaina’s birthday is today, May 3, so here’s some facts about her!
Alaina has an interesting relation to Eminem
Eminem and his longtime love, Kimberly Anne Scott, dated in high school. The couple welcomed their first child — a daughter named Hailie — in December 1995. Hailie’s younger half-sister, Whitney, is Kim’s daughter from another relationship, while Alaina is Kim’s sister Dawn’s daughter.
She lost her mother tragically
Dawn passed away on January 19, 2016, leaving behind two sons as well as Alaina (whose name was Amanda at birth). According to Daily Mail, Dawn sadly died in the Motor City Trailer Park in Detroit after an apparent drug overdose. Eminem and Kim adopted Dawn’s daughter and helped raise her. It’s claimed that Alaina’s moniker was legally changed during the adoption process.
Alaina’s been mentioned in Eminem’s songs
Eminem’s hit track “Mockingbird” revealed how much he connected with his girls as some of the verses include her nickname. “And you and Lainie were too young to understand it / Papa was a rolling stone, Momma developed a habit,’ as well as, ‘To see how much you both have grown, it’s almost like you’re sisters now / Wow, guess you pretty much are, and Daddy’s still here / Lainie, I’m talking to you too, Daddy’s still here / I like the sound of that, yeah, it’s got a ring to it, don’t it?”
All three of his daughters are also mentioned on Eminem’s hit jam “Going Through Changes.”
“Hailie, this one is for you, Whitney and Alaina too / I still love your mother, that’ll never change,” he rapped.
She keeps a low profile
Unlike her half-sister, Hailie, Alaina keeps a low profile for the most part. Fans haven’t heard much about her, but luckily we get plenty of updates from social media influencer in the making Hailie!
