Eminem made millions off of publicly airing his dirty laundry with his estranged mother, Debbie Mathers.
But now, at the age of 41, he’s apologizing to her for all of his wrongdoings in his new video for “Headlights.”
The Spike Lee-directed video, which dropped on Mother’s Day, focuses on his mom and was filmed in the musician’s childhood neighborhood in Detroit.
In the tune, he raps, “Ma, you’re still beautiful to me because you’re my mom” and “I love you, Debbie Mathers.”
Though he still highlights his trouble childhood, Eminem, who’s father to 18-year-old daughter Hailie Jade Scott, apologizes for depicting Debbie in such a negative light in his past videos. (Ah hem, “Cleanin Out My Closet” for one.)
In “Headlights,” which features fun. singer Nate Ruess, Em (whose real name is Marshall Mathers) and his mom reconnect after years of fighting — and the reunion is priceless.
