The Duggars Got Land Approved to Build An “Upscale RV Park” and Honestly, Why???

Jim Bob is about to add upscale RV park manager to his lengthy résumé! Apparently, being a real estate broker, TV personality, politician, author, and more just wasn't enough for the father-of-19. According to a new report, the Counting On star just got approved to build an "upscale RV park" — whatever that means — in Fayetteville, AR. But not everyone is happy about the rezoning.

Renwick Hudson, a neighbor of the famous family, told 5News, "Rezoning [the land]… It's tricky. We have to be really careful." He added that additional development near the mountains could ruin the scenery. "At this location, from my perspective, not ideal. It butts right up against some of the areas that are already vulnerable to future development."

However, Andrew Garner — planning director for Fayetteville — said most of it will still be green space. "The addition that [Jim Bob and Michelle] are proposing, only to rezone the front part and kind of keep the back of it preserved, I think is in line with a lot of the city's policies for tree preservation and environmental preservation," he told the site.

The nearly 30 acres of land is mostly wooded and sits up against the Ozark Mountains. The RV park has reportedly been proposed on the additional seven and a half acres that are not being rezoned.

And although a permit for the RV park has already been approved, development has yet to be given the green light by planning officials. "If they decide to build the RV park, they actually have to turn in construction plans and large-scale development plans," Andrew said. "We have to look at all the development details, but the actual zoning decision has to be made to allow the RV park."
