The Duggars are reportedly at odds with one another after Jill Duggar’s husband, Derick Dillard, was fired from Counting On for making transphobic remarks about fellow TLC star Jazz Jennings. According to Radar Online, the religious family have mixed emotions about Derick, 28, getting the ax.

“There’s a lot of outrage between increasingly divided factions,” a source told the website, adding that Jill, 26, “wants to support her husband through a trying time.” The insider went on to say that the GoFundMe enthusiast has been down and out since his reality TV career went down in flames: “Derick is really having a hard time. They are extremely careful to not criticize each other.”

While the source claimed that Derick “wasn’t trying to hurt Jazz” with his hateful remarks, that’s pretty hard to believe — especially since he’s criticized the 17-year-old trans advocate on several occasions over the past several months. As previously reported, TLC gave Derick recently tweeted that he “[pities] Jazz,” referred to her using the wrong pronoun, and suggested that the I Am Jazz star’s parents were “taking advantage” of her to “promote their agenda.”

Earlier this summer, Derick also slammed Jazz’s reality series, tweeting, “What an oxymoron… a ‘reality’ show which follows a non-reality. ‘Transgender’ is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it’s ordained by God.” Though some fans felt like TLC reacted too late, the network finally gave Derick the pink slip on Nov. 11.

“We want to let our viewers know that Derick Dillard has not participated in Counting On for months and the network has no plans to feature him in the future,” TLC said in a statement via Twitter. “We want to reiterate that Derick’s personal statements do not reflect the views of the network. TLC is proud to share the story of Jazz Jennings and her family and will continue to do so.”
