She was with them until the end. Beth Chapman passed away on June 26 after a long battle with cancer, and her family is mourning the tragic loss. Her husband, Duane ‘Dog’ Chapman, and other family members spoke with Hawaii News Now about Beth’s last words, and Duane told the outlet, “When she had an attack I didn’t know anything to do but to say ‘in Jesus’ name’ and hold her and when I said ‘in Jesus’ name’ she said, ‘Say it again, say it more,’” Dog revealed. “And then she told the girls and everybody, with her mouth — she came out of it a couple of times — ‘I love you’ and ‘Are you guys all OK? Don’t worry,’ but she never accepted it.”

Duane, 66, is the one who told fans and followers about Beth’s death via a statement he shared to Twitter. “It’s 5:32 in Hawaii,” he wrote. “This is the time she would wake up to go hike Koko Head Mountain. Only today, she hiked the stairway to heaven. We all love you, Beth. See you on the other side.”

The former Dog the Bounty Hunter star addressed reporters outside of his home on June 27 and said that while Beth’s family “knew this day would come,” for a few years, it was “really unexpected, really fast,” when she actually died. “All of her clothes, her make-up, everything. We didn’t prepare,” he revealed. “The cancer gig, of course, we gotta find a cure. Because all we have now is some get lucky, but most pass away.”

After Duane shared the heartbreaking news on social media, other members of Beth’s family joined him in sharing the news and remembering her. The couple’s daughter Bonnie Jo Chapman took to Twitter and wrote, “Love you forever mom. You’ve got a halo now.” Jamie Chapman, who is married to Leland Chapman, posted Psalm 23:4 on her Instagram and added, “The Lord will do right by Beth. I will always love you and miss you.”
