Doug Hutchison Responds to Courtney Stodden’s Breakdown — “She’s Addicted to Fame”

After his estranged wife Courtney Stodden had a mini-breakdown on social media and begged him to take her back, Doug Hutchison is breaking his silence. The actor, who controversially married the blonde bombshell when she was just 16 years old, admits that while her depression is heartbreaking to watch, he is going through with their divorce.

“I have been left so confused and hurt. I am actually distraught by this. I cannot understand why Courtney posted that message on social media,” the 53-year-old told the Daily Mail. “Then she changed her mind again. Ultimately I want her to be happy first and foremost. I love her with all my heart, we are soulmates and I will always love her.”

He went on to explain how the couple is currently filing paperwork to finalize their divorce, before adding, “I don’t think even Superman could be married to that woman.” On Jan. 5, Courtney, now 23, posted a video on Instagram, admitting she was not ready to end her six-year marriage. “So, obviously, I’ve been crying again. And I just wanna be honest with you guys about some things. Me and my husband have been going through a really rough time — separation and ultimately divorce here, coming up in a week,” she said at the time. “And I, like, at the last minute realize that I don’t want it. And I wanna try to make things work.”

She continued, “And, like, ever since we’ve been separated and he’s moved away, I’ve been, like, really depressed. And I’ve, like, realized that I don’t deserve him and I love him so much. And I need him back in my life and I just need him to come, like, help me and be with me. And I love him.”

However, according to Doug, Courtney has already moved on and is dating a “sugar daddy” because of her finances. “Courtney has to be out of her apartment at the end of the month,” he told the publication. “The thing is she doesn’t have any money, and he started paying her rent, and she really wants to stay in Hollywood. She is addicted to fame.”

He also confessed that his inability to provide Courtney with the lifestyle she deserves is forcing her to be with the other man. “She says she is not in love with him. I know that he has a great deal of money. I think she may have found her sugar daddy,” he added. “But I don’t have the finances to give Courtney what she desires. Of course, quite frankly, it kills me.”

However, Doug wishes the “Mistletoe Bikini” singer nothing but the best. “I don’t want to lose her and I don’t want people to lose her — she is still so young,” he said. “I don’t want her to end tragically, I want her life to be bountiful and beautiful.”
