Matthew Morrison may enjoy a lot of the benefits that come with being on one of the hottest shows on TV right now, but if there is one thing he doesn’t appreciate, it’s being called by his Glee alter ego!
While performing an acoustic music set at Starburst presents Songwriters Music Series to benefit VH1’s Save The Music Foundation at the Times Square Hard Rock Cafe, he told the crowd he wrote a song that appears on his self-titled debut album, which dropped earlier this month, called “My Name,” which he explained is “about the duality about being me and Mr. Schuester, and kind of how I walk down the street and people are like, “Oh, hey, it’s Mr. Schuester.”
Even though he recalls the two years he’s spent on the show as “out of this world, and insane, and just awesome, and crazy and stupid,” he still maintains that fans don’t even know his real name.
“No one really knows my name,” he added. “Which is Matthew Morrison, by the way. And so this is a song I wrote about that.”
Hey, don’t sweat it Matthew… at least they are calling you!
