Cardi B and Offset Were Both at the Met Gala, so Why Didn’t We See Them Together?

Wait a sec, did Cardi B and Offset breakup? The former Love & Hip Hop: New York star turned rap superstar has been through a lot with her man, from cheating rumors to breakups to makeups, but now fans are wondering if they’re dunzo yet again… while she’s super pregnant! Offset arrived at the 2018 Met Gala on May 7 rocking matching outfits with his fellow Migos members Takeoff and Quavo, while Cardi came an hour later, arm-in-arm and matching with designer Jeremy Scott.

Okay, so what’s so weird about a guest walking the carpet with her designer? Nothing, it’s actually customary. But why, if Cardi and her fiance were both at the event, did they not take a single photo together? She also didn’t post anything on Instagram with her man, though she did share that the hotel she was staying at had custom pillow that said “Cardi B,” “Baby Bartier” and “Okurr.” Why didn’t the last one say Offset if they were staying together?

Fans are definitely reading into the sitch. “Why Cardi and Offset ain’t go together dressed alike? Why she dressed like the other man, that ain’t her fiancé,” said one outraged fan. “But why isn’t Offset with Cardi at the Met Gala?” asked another. It’s still unclear, and unfortunately since phones aren’t allowed inside, we can’t tell if they sat together for dinner or not. But, Cardi did give this hint about their status just last night: “Me and Off got 3 Pitts at home but I think I want a Huskey??? Offset? Yes? No?” she tweeted. Offset didn’t reply, but it woul dstill seem like they live together and share pets, so we’re guessing no breakup.

Cardi and Offset really did break up once before. Luckily, their split only lasted for a few hours in 2017, and Cardi took to her Instagram Story to confirm that she and her man were back together. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper also shared some insight into their split on Twitter, and she revealed that her fans weren’t the only ones upset over her breakup with Offset — her family was, too! “Why [was] my dad yelling at me cause somebody told him me and Offset broke up?” she asked on Twitter. She also joked about the reason why she broke things off with her beau, saying that they split because he was the one who stole her favorite purple blanket — the one that she hilarious revealed is missing in one of her funny Instagram videos over the weekend.

But the former reality TV star had a really real reason to consider dumping the rapper in late 2017, when rumors came out that he had cheated on her and gotten another woman pregnant. While Cardi had talked about being hurt and considering breaking up, she admitted she wanted to work it out. It all made sense when she went on SNL in 2018 and revealed that she’s expecting. Hopefully if they’re having problems, she’ll find a way to work it out!
