Derick Dillard Spends “Quality Time” With His Oldest Son and It’s Actually the Sweetest
Well, this is adorable. Derick Dillard took time out of his (not so) busy schedule to spend quality time with his three-year-old son, Israel, and it's the cutest. "It's times like this I love being a dad!" the 29-year-old captioned the Instagram snap. Watch the video above to see the photo.
Earlier this week, it was reported that the currently unemployed dad will be heading to law school in the fall. The anti-Duggar Facebook group, Life is not all pickles and hairspray, broke the news and wrote, "Derick will be attending The School of Law at the University of Arkansas this fall. Derick is giving up missioning, whatever he did at Cross Church, and God, to attend a secular law school."
Getting an education won't come cheap, though. According to the page, Derick will have to shell out $16,000 a year — a large chunk of change for someone who seemingly doesn't have a job.
Back in November, Derick was fired from Counting On after posting a series of transphobic remarks about I Am Jazz star Jazz Jennings. "What an oxymoron… a 'reality' show which follows a non-reality," Derick tweeted. "'Transgender' is a myth. Gender is not fluid; it's ordained by God."
Although his wife, Jill Duggar, has her own midwife company, the couple manages to take day trips to Chick-fil-A, so people are genuinely curious about how they make their money. Although Derick once said he was hired to drive students around during a weekend of worshipping at the Student Leadership University's Lift Tour, that wasn't exactly a full-time gig. Hmm, they could always go back to begging?
