Demi Moore has no plans to begin dating any time soon as her career heats up with a run of recent successes, despite friends suggesting she may not be balancing her work and social life sustainably and a new romance may have actually helped her during awards season.

“It’s a little sad that Demi couldn’t find the time or the opportunity over the last few months to start a new relationship, because that might have made a difference in her awards run,” a longtime pal of the recently Oscar-nominated superstar exclusively tells In Touch. “Instead, she mostly hit the red carpet with her dog and her manager, which didn’t exactly spark the imaginations of her fans.”

The actress, 62, lost out on an Academy Award for her much-acclaimed role in The Substance, and, as the source suggests, perhaps some buzz around a new fling could have pushed her publicity over the edge. Though for Demi, her recent career upswing is just getting started with or without the Oscar and she plans to focus all of her energy in that arena.

“So grateful for my team, my fellow nominees, and everyone who has made this experience so full of joy and light,” the Ghost actress said after the snub, adding her congratulations for Mikey Madison, who won Best Actress for Anora.

“From Demi’s perspective, there was absolutely no time for dating or even thinking about dating over the last eight months,” the insider adds. “She’s been on a roller-coaster with the global success of The Substance and the surprise massive ratings her T.V. series Landman has gotten, and these hits were not taken lightly in Demi’s world.”

Demi’s hit show has been renewed for a second season by Paramount after launching in November with the best debut the streaming service has seen in two years.

“It’s actually a huge deal for her and her team that these projects connected and even though it’s heartbreaking that she didn’t finally get her Oscar, Demi is in a great position to get into more cool movies and Landman has firmly put her into the Supporting Actress Emmy race this fall,” the insider explains. “Things are not slowing down on that front at all.”

While the Striptease star’s resurgence is in full swing and the future is looking bright for Demi, the source adds she may be missing out on some of the other crucial components of life as her balance tips heavily to one side.

“Demi knows exactly what she’s missing by shunning the idea of a serious relationship and even dating right now. Yeah, part of her life is a little empty but she is finding so much fulfillment in her work at the moment that she says the sacrifice, and even a little loneliness, is all worth it, , even if she has nobody to really share it with.”

As In Touch previously reported, Demi’s year has had high highs, but also low lows as she deals with her ex Bruce Willis’ progressive dementia.

“You have to admire that she has this very positive outlook about her future.”
