David Beckham Kisses Daughter On The Lips In New Pic And People Are Pissed About It
It was just supposed to be an innocent picture. However, the internet went nuts when David Beckham posted a photo of himself kissing his daughter, Harper, on Instagram. Some fans were disgusted, while others stuck up for the former soccer player.
One fan commented, “Weird – it’s improper for a parent to kiss their kids on the lips; on the forehead/cheeks is cute though.” Another echoed, “Why are they kissing on [the] lips??!?!!”
However, many fans thought their kiss was rather normal, actually. One wrote, “Such a loving father,” while another posted, “Nothing wrong with this at all.”
Even some celebrities chimed in. Rebecca Vardy insisted she “kisses her children on the lips all the time!” However, Piers Morgan didn’t quite agree. He tweeted that kissing a child on the lips “is a bit weird.”
This isn’t the first time that the father of four has been criticized for being too loving. Last year, he posted a different photo of him kissing Harper on the lips. In a Facebook Live discussion, David insisted that he is “very affectionate” with his kids because that is how he was brought up.
He continued, “I got actually criticized for kissing my daughter on the lips the other day. I kiss all my kids on the lips. Brooklyn, maybe not. Brooklyn’s 18, he might find that a little bit strange. But I’m very affectionate with the kids. It’s how I was brought up and Victoria, and it’s how we are with our children. We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them, and support them, and we’re very affectionate with them.”
Victoria hasn’t been shy about kissing her daughter in photos either. She posted on Instagram, “Happy birthday baby girl. We all love you so much. x @davidbeckham @brooklynbeckham kisses from mummy. X.”
The 43-year-old has always been vocal about how much he enjoys fatherhood. In a video clip from June, he gushed, “I think one other thing is how times goes by really fast. One minute you’re holding them in [the] hospital for the first time and then, the next minute, they’re driving their car.” He added, “It’s the most special thing, I would never change anything.”
