Only in the new issue of In Touch, Dascha Polanco, also known as Daya on the hit Netflix show Orange Is the New Black, opens up about learning to love her body.
“My body was a negative factor for me for a long time,” the star says, “but now I embrace its uniqueness.”
“I’ve always been insecure. I feared rejection because of how I look,” Daya explains. “When I don’t get an audition and I see they cast someone who’s a size 0, that’s a kind of rejection.”

Dascha says that her feelings changed about the way she looks after having kids, telling In Touch: “I’d see women with different shapes and sizes who were happy. I’d been waiting for others to accept my curves, when really I had to accept them first.”
“It’s important for me to be able to say that I’m proud of my shape,” Dascha says.
