Nickelodeon and TV producer Dan Schneider have parted ways after collaborating on such beloved shows as The Amanda Show, iCarly, and Victorious. And though Dan and Nickelodeon maintain it's a mutual decision, many fans suspect Dan's behavior with his young stars is the real reason he's no longer employed with the cable channel. Just check out this 2013-era Vine iCarly star Jennette McCurdy sent Dan's direction, a video YouTube commenters have called "downright disturbing" and "extremely disconcerting."

Other YouTube commenters imply Dan is a child predator, calling him "Dan 'Eight Is the New Eighteen' Schneider'" and "Dan 'The Age Denier' Schneider," among more explicit nicknames. At the very least, the 52-year-old seems fixated on his young stars' feet, as you can see in this collage of social media pics and screen grabs from his shows.

In September, Twitter user @deludedkiss posted a "thread of how much of a pedophile creep with disgusting fetishes Dan Schneider is and what really goes on behind the scenes of his shows." @deludedkiss included video clips of sexually-suggestive dialogue from Dan's shows, for example, as well as examples of Dan's alleged sexualizing of minors and screenshots of tweets he posted. (Examples: "Pic! Carly tickles Sam's very unusual toes" and "Would you like to see @VictoriaJustice pour ketchup all over her feet?")

In reporting the news of the end of Dan and Nickelodeon's relationship, Deadline doesn't mention anything about the pedophilia rumors, but the site does say there have been "multiple complaints of abusive behavior against Schneider filed by members of his staff." He also reportedly clashed with Nickelodeon over the channel's decision to cancel Game Shakers — one of two live-action series his production company, Schneider's Bakery, has on the air.

But a joint statement from Nickelodeon and Dan Schneider makes this "breakup" sound amicable. "Following many conversations together about next directions and future opportunities, Nickelodeon and our long-time creative partner Dan Schneider/Schneider's Bakery have agreed to not extend the current deal," they said, per Deadline. "Since several Schneider's Bakery projects are wrapping up, both sides agreed that this is a natural time for Nickelodeon and Schneider's Bakery to pursue other opportunities and projects."

The statement continues, "We thank Dan and his Schneider's Bakery producers, executives and social media team for their immeasurable contributions to Nickelodeon, and we wish them the best in their future endeavors. And Dan and Schneider's Bakery are proud of the work they did together with Nickelodeon and will always remain big fans of the network."

After an acting career in the 1980s and early 1990s, Dan went into business with Nick when he co-created All That in 1994. Since then, he has also created Drake & Josh, Zoey 101, Sam & Cat, and Harvey Danger. As of the time of this post, he hasn't publicly commented on his departure from Nick.
