Avril Lavigne and More Celebs Who Are “Dead” Thanks to Twitter

The conspiracy that Avril Lavigne is actually dead and has been replaced with a body double is the theory that is sweeping the Twitter-verse in recent weeks.

The theory goes as follows: The punk-pop icon died back in the early 2000s and for some reason, was replaced by an actress named Melissa Vandella. First thought up by a fan site in 2015, the theory went away for a while, but recently came back with a vengeance after Twitter got ahold of it again.

The “Sk8r Boi” songstress hasn’t addressed the rumors of her alleged death, but she has talked about her real life health struggle with Lyme Disease.

“I had no idea a bug bite could do this. I was bedridden for five months,” she has said. “I thought I was dying.”

Well, Avril (or should we say Melissa?) all press is good press, right?
