This is heartbreaking. Courtney Stodden opened up back in July 2016 about suffering a miscarriage while pregnant with her and Doug Hutchison‘s first child — and she further elaborated on the experience during an exclusive interview with In Touch.

“It’s one of the worst — I know there’s a lot of pain in the world so I don’t want to speak for everybody — but for myself, it was one of the most difficult things to get over and I’m still healing from that. I suffer from depression and the miscarriage didn’t help. At some points, you kind of wonder, at least for me, if I failed or why it happened and Doug was really amazing during that time and completely there for me, but in a lot of ways, us as women — we’re the ones carrying, so you kind of feel alone in that whole experience,” Courtney said via phone before appearing on the season finale of Million Dollar Matchmaker.

“Getting over that has been really difficult and I can’t say that I am yet. That’s something that’s been weighing on me as well, but I think that’s potentially too why I want to keep Doug in my life because he was there for me during that time. He didn’t make me feel bad or guilt or anything for the loss — so he’s an amazing man when it comes down to it, and that whole experience was very personal, but I can say it’s still an ongoing healing process, for sure, and my heart goes out to anybody who experiences any fashion of loss, including a miscarriage or stillborn.”

A spokesperson for the blonde beauty and her ex released a statement at the time, which read, “It is with a heavy heart to inform you that last week, Courtney Stodden suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage. Courtney and her husband, Doug are at an emotional loss for words and are using this time to grieve with their close family and friends. Please respect their privacy as the couple try to cope with losing their precious baby and seek the support they both need.”
