Our thoughts go out to his loved ones. Cliff Dixon was tragically shot and killed while celebrating his 32nd birthday in Atlanta on March 21, In Touch can confirm. The former Western Kentucky basketball player, who is also known for being the ex-boyfriend of Love & Hip Hop star Erica Mena, was standing in the parking lot when the shooter opened fire on him.

“The Chamblee Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred this morning at 0117 a.m. at the SL Lounge at 4186 Buford Hwy,” the press release about the incident read. “The victim, 32 year-old Clifford Dixon, had just arrived at the location and was standing in the parking lot when the offender shot him multiple times. First responders administered aid, and the victim was transported to Grady Hospital where medical staff advised that he had succumbed to his injuries.”

Mena, 31, and Dixon were romantically involved for about 10 months, but they called it quits around last October. Dixon, who Golden State Warriors baller Kevin Durant refers to as his “adopted brother,” posted a message advertising his upcoming birthday bash on March 19.

Chamblee Investigators are currently working the case and following up on all available leads. It was revealed that the offender fled the scene on foot after the shooting. When the devastating news was announced, several fans took to social media to share their condolences on his page.

Dixon’s friend, Fabolous, 41, was heartbroken and posted a sentimental message. “Damn G … You was a good dude,” the rapper began his tribute. “Type of guy who told me he learned a lot from me not from what I said but from just being around me. Never saw one characteristic of you not being a stand up dude … and never heard anyone speak bad of you so it’s crazy to me how your life would be cut short like this. We gonna miss you dog … Rest In Peace Cliff.”
