This marriage has officially flopped. Flip or Flop star Christina El Moussa has finally filed for divorce from estranged husband Tarek El Moussa six months after he filed his own papers, requesting spousal support.

In court documents, obtained by Us Weekly, the 34-year-old mom-of-two — who shares daughter Taylor, 6, and son Brayden, 23 months, with Tarek, 35 — cites “irreconcilable differences” and requests joint legal and physical custody of their children. The blonde beauty has also asked for spousal support from Tarek, and requested that his previous filing for spousal support be dismissed.

As previously reported, the former couple announced in January 2016 their decision to pull the plug on their seven-year marriage. “Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage,” they said a joint statement at the time. “We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution. There was no violence and no charges were filed. We chose to get counseling to sort out our relationship. Together, we have decided to separate while we reevaluate the future of our marriage.”

The “unfortunate understanding” the HGTV personalities mentioned seems to be referring to an incident that happened in May 2016, when the Orange County Sheriff’s Department came to the their home in response to a call about a “possibly suicidal male with a gun.”

One of Christina’s friends told law enforcement she saw Tarek pull a gun from his safe before walking out into the woods. However, he claimed he was only carrying the weapon with him to protect himself from “mountain lions and rattlesnakes.”

Despite their troubled past, Tarek and Christina have maintained an amicable relationship for the sake of their family — and for their show, which they have continued to film together. Back in February, Christina told Good Morning America about her relationship with Tarek post-split.

“Our primary focus is and always will be our kids. We continue to work together and there’s a lot of false stories and a lot of hype,” she explained. “But, in the end, we’re just normal, nice people who just want to be the best parents.”
