Chrissy Teigen Shows Off Her Post-Baby Body in ‘Sports Illustrated’

Work it, mama!

Chrissy Teigen has gone back to her roots, posing in the swimsuit issue of Sports Illustrated, just nine months after welcoming baby Luna with husband John Legend.

“It’s been a while since I’ve done anything swimsuit,” she told the famed magazine. “I haven’t shot since baby. But of course you know that [SI Swimsuit editor] MJ [Day] and everyone at Sports Illustrated in general is going to embrace your body no matter what’s happening and embrace the changes.”

In an interview with SI, the 31-year-old explained that she was nervous to return.

“It took James [Macari] shooting it and for me to see the photos to know that it was going to be OK. Oh my gosh, I was not prepared for that,” she gushed. Even though she had reservations, the new mom made it clear she was definitely happy to be “back in [her] element.”

“It’s so important to my well-being that I come out here and am able to do this,” she explained. “And do something I’m proud of.”

The host of Lip Sync Battle has had a long history with the beloved magazine.

In 2010, she was named Rookie of the Year by the magazine after being introduced to the casting team by friend and fellow model Brooklyn Decker. She appeared in the pages of SI in 2011, 2012, and 2013, and in 2014, she graced the cover of the 50th anniversary cover alongside pals Lily Aldridge and Nina Agdal.

She also appeared in the issue in 2016, and later revealed that while shooting the issue, she was going through IVF treatments as she prepared for her daughter’s arrival.

“I was getting my shots and everything in Zanzibar, I had a little medical kit. It was kind of hard because you bloat from it, and you bruise — if I hit the wrong area,” she explained. “That’s the kind of things we had to cover with makeup.”
