Chrissy Metz Brings Down the House in First Performance at the 2019 ACM Awards
Star power! This Is Us star Chrissy Metz joined Carrie Underwood, Lauren Alania, Mickey Guyton and Maddie & Tae for an amazing performance of “I’m Standing With You” at the 2019 Academy of Country Music Awards. The catchy tune is from Chrissy’s upcoming movie called Breakthrough. While on stage, all of the women wore blue dresses and really hit all of the high notes!
The brunette beauty sings in the hit NBC show, but she also got a chance to record a song for her new film’s soundtrack. “As an actress, you’re not always taken seriously as a singer,” the 38-year-old explained. “You can’t always cross over, whether it’s drama to comedy or an actress to musician. I can’t even believe it’s happening. I really, really can’t. It’s been a gift on top of a gift.”
She continued, “It’s one of those bucket list moments you didn’t think would actually happen,” she said of her performance. “Standing on stage with five incredible women who are brilliant vocalists and artists is beyond thrilling.”
