Oh no! Just when we thought that Channing Tatum and his soon-to-be ex-wife, Jenna Dewan, wouldn’t fall victim to a messy custody battle over their daughter, Everly, a new report claims that legal talks between the pair have gone sour. “It’s been challenging and emotional,” a source close to the actress, 38, revealed to Us Weekly.

We’re sincerely hoping that the Magic Mike star, 38, and his former flame are able to make things civil again. After all, up to this point, their divorce proceedings had been going so well, especially as far as their 5-year-old is concerned. In documents obtained by Life & Style, Channing detailed Everly’s life since her parents announced their split in April 2018.

“In my opinion and experience, Everly has appeared to adjust to our separation and living in two homes exceptionally well,” he explained. “I believe that she will thrive even more with structure and consistency because she is happy and more relaxed when she knows a plan.”

In addition to assuring the court of Everly’s positive outlook, the proud papa listed some of the sweet comforts he’s provided his little girl since he and Jenna called it quits. Not only has he decorated her room to fit a “fairytale and fantasy theme,” but he’s also created an “outdoor art space” and made sure there are pictures of Everly with both her parents in the house.

It’s clear that despite this unfortunate hurdle, Channing and Jenna are dedicated to keeping their child’s life as normal as possible. So much so, that in the past few months alone, they celebrated both Halloween and Christmas with their daughter by taking her trick-or-treating and making sure to read over her list to Santa. Stop the bickering and get back to co-parenting Everly, you two!
