Moving On! Jenna Dewan and Ex Channing Tatum Declared Legally Single 2 Months After She Announces Pregnancy
The time has come. Jenna Dewan and her ex Channing Tatum have been declared legally single, one year after the Step Up actress filed for divorce.
According to court documents obtained by Life & Style, the former flames still need to settle their child custody agreement as well as their property assets. Even so, this is a big step for Channing, 39, and Jenna, 38.
The World of Dance star filed for divorce from Channing back in October 2018, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason behind their split. Jenna and Channing exchanged their vows in 2009 and they later welcomed a daughter, Everly, in May 2013.
To no surprise, fans were shocked to find out the power couple decided to part ways in April 2018.
“We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple,” the duo revealed in a joint statement at the time. “We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together. Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now.”
“There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best-friends realizing it’s time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible. We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to Everly,” the message concluded.
Since then, both Channing and Jenna have moved on romantically! The brunette beauty announced she was expecting her first child with current boyfriend, Steve Kazee, in September 2019. Meanwhile, the 21 Jump Street actor has also found love with singer Jessie J and they are still going strong today.
Luckily, Channing and Jenna are focused on coparenting to the best of their abilities in the wake of their split.
“Jenna and Channing just want the other to be happy and make sure that Everly is always safe and in appropriate surroundings,” an insider previously told Life & Style exclusively.
“That’s pretty much their only objective. They understand better than anyone that life goes on after divorce and that they’ll always have Everly in common.”
