There’s a method to their madness! Teen Mom OG star Catelynn Lowell revealed to Us Weekly on March 14 why she and her husband, Tyler Baltierra, ultimately decided not to go with the name Tezlee for their newborn daughter. It was certainly a unique pick in the first place and apparently ended up being not quite right for the little girl. Check out our gallery below to learn more!
Catelynn, 27, and Tyler, also 27, welcomed baby Vaeda Luma on February 23. The little one was born at 9:24 a.m. and weighed in at 6 pounds and 4 ounces.

Little Sister!
Baby Vaeda joins big sister Nova, 4. Nova apparently “loves being a big sister and loves ‘her baby,'” Catelynn told Us Weekly. But it’s probably not hard to love on little Vaeda right now because according to the Teen Mom franchise star, the newborn is “such a good baby – very chill and easy going … so far.”

Don’t Forget Her!
Tyler and Catelynn also share an older daughter, Carly, who is now 9. However, she was placed for open adoption in 2009. They are still involved in their older daughter’s life, and 16 and Pregnant viewers back in the day watched the couple struggle with the decision to place her with her adopted family.

Special Moments
These days, Tyler and Cate are loving being parents to their two younger girls. In fact, Tyler recently revealed on Instagram that they got Nova a pony, and how much he “lives” for those moments as a dad. So sweet!

What Happened?
For months leading up to her birth, the Teen Mom couple shared with fans and followers any news about the pregnancy and how excited they were to welcome a new baby into their family. But their followers may recall that they originally settled on a different name for their youngest daughter — Tezlee. So, what happened to that name?

So Cringe
During a December episode of Teen Mom OG, the couple revealed the name they had in mind for their newest little girl. But as Catelynn explained to Us Weekly, “Every time someone would say Tezlee, we would cringe! It just wasn’t sitting with us like it did at first.” Yea, that’s definitely not the reaction you want to have to your own child’s name.

My Girl
Then Catelynn added, “Tyler told me about the name Vaeda and I fell in love with it! It’s from the movie My Girl, which is a movie that Tyler showed me years ago.” Her hubby also explained on Instagram that Luma, her middle name, means “sunset.”

All the Deets
Catelynn was more than happy to share plenty of tidbits about Vaeda’s birth with Us Weekly. She explained that her water actually didn’t break and that she started having contractions at 5 a.m. “We got everything in the car and woke Nova up at about 6:30 and headed for the hospital,” she explained. “It took us about 25 minutes to get there. Once at the hospital, I was in labor for 2 and a half hours. I’m honestly blessed because I have very easy and fast labors! So every one of them have been very similar.”

No Problem!
The Teen Mom OG star went on to explain, “The hardest part was almost not getting an epidural! I almost didn’t have a chance to get one and that freaked me out … The easiest was the pushing itself – only two times and she was out!” If only all births could go off without a hitch like that!

Babies on Board
Catelynn said she and Tyler are nowhere near done, and want to give Nova and Vaeda at least one more sibling. “We want more children,” she told Us. “We really want to try for a boy, but we are going to wait until Vaeda is a little older – like six months to a year.” She basically said the same thing on her Instagram back in January, when she explained, “Yes, Tyler and I both want a boy, so we’re definitely gonna try again … I think we’re just gonna go right for No. 4 right after this one’s born. We wanna be done before we’re 30, you know?”

Unexplainable Love
As for Tyler, he seems to adore being a daddy to his girls, and would probably be just as good at it with a baby boy. He wrote on Instagram on March 6, “I love my family so much & there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for all of my girls! After this past year with our miscarriage, Cate’s mental health struggle, my dad & sister’s recovery, & my own mental health journey … I thought this pregnancy couldn’t have [come] at a more emotionally sensitive time for us. But life isn’t about convenient timing & destiny works in mysterious ways. I’m just so blessed that Vaeda’s destiny was to be right here in her mother’s arms, next to her big sister, who’s wrapped in her daddy’s arms … it’s a feeling that’s unexplainable!”

Can’t Wait
He also wrote in the caption of the first photo of Vaeda at home, “Welcome home Vaeda! Mommy & Daddy love you so much & can’t wait to watch you grow with love in this crazy family of ours! 😭😍.” Too cute.

#Blessed Mama
Just as she did throughout the pregnancy, Cate has been sure to share sweet updates on baby Vaeda since she arrived as well, and she is clearly in love with her littlest girl. She wrote on a photo of both of her daughters on March 5, “The love I have for these girls is SO unbelievably HUGE!! I’m so blessed to be the mommy to them!!!”

Rainbow Baby
Vaeda’s arrival was even more special to her parents because she’s a “rainbow baby” — Tyler and Catelynn’s first child after they went through a miscarriage in 2017. They were not trying for another child and Catelynn explained to Us Weekly in September 2018, “This baby is our rainbow after the storm. We were using protection and everything. This baby just wanted to be here. It was very unexpected.”

Tezlee’s Out!
The duo couldn’t very well stick such an important new member of their life with a name that made them “cringe,” now could they?! So Tezlee was out, and Vaeda is in.
