Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell’s Daughter Nova Proves She Isn’t Afraid to Play With Snakes
Go, Novalee Reign! Teen Mom OG stars Tyler Baltierra and Catelynn Lowell have a daredevil daughter on their hands, and it's pretty freaking awesome. Cate shared a video of Nova playing with a snake and fans totally praised the child's bravery. Watch the video above to see for yourself!
OMG, Nova really has no fear. Not only did Cate's followers cheer Nova on, but they also totally supported the 26-year-old mom for letting her daughter play with the animal. "For those freaking out about her playing with the snake, it's Michigan! Do your research before bashing — we have one poisonous snake and the little gardener snake she has [is] harmless," one person wrote on Instagram. "I played with them growing up, and so did my daughters. Catelynn, good job! You are raising a well-rounded child."
Another person added, "She is absolutely beautiful [and] blessed to have @catelynnmtv [and] @tylerbaltierramtv as her parents! I love that she loves to play outside [and] be with nature! This is what kids need to be doing instead of being on a iPad! She's truly a blessing."
Catelynn wants fans to get one thing clear, though: Nova's love for snakes didn't just come out of nowhere. Cate actually loves the little creatures, too! "I love my kid so much! She is so cool," Cate captioned the Instagram collage of Nova and the snake. "I love that she's not afraid and loves snakes like her momma!"
The adorable video of Nova comes just hours after Catelynn shared a heartfelt message about her and Tyler's first biological daughter, Carly, and the struggles that come with an open adoption process. The couple placed Carly up for adoption nine years ago during the first season of MTV's hit series, 16 and Pregnant. "Some days adoption is really hard," Catelynn wrote on Instagram. "I know she will understand one day… I don’t regret it at all…just some days are harder than others."
She shared the message alongside a photo with a quote that read, "Open adoption is like a marriage. It requires hard work, acceptance, patience, forgiveness, respect, trust, understanding, and quality time. You stay in it not only for the child, but because you genuninely love each other." Nova was born in 2011 — four years after Catelynn and Tyler placed Carly.
