Catelynn Lowell Reveals Struggles of “Open Adoption” in Heartfelt Message to Daughter Carly
Grab the tissues! Catelynn Lowell poured her heart out in a thoughful post about her biological daughter Carly on June 26, revealing how the hardships of adoption still impact her today. The Teen Mom OG star and her husband, Tyler Baltierra, placed their bundle of joy up for adoption nine years ago. "Some days adoption is really hard," Catelynn wrote. "I know she will understand one day… I don’t regret it at all…just some days are harder than others."
"Open adoption is like a marriage. It requires hard work, acceptance, patience, forgiveness, respect, trust, understanding, and quality time. You stay in it not only for the child, but because you genuinely love eachother," the quote on Catelynn's page said. The reality star and her beau are doing their best to stay in Carly's life after giving away their baby girl to Brandon and Teresa Davis, who ended up being the perfect fit for their child.
Tyler recently wrote a heartfelt post of his own to Carly to celebrate her birthday. "Happy birthday to my beautiful first born!" he gushed. "I can't believe Carly is nine-years-old today and I'm just so blessed because I may not have the luxury of seeing her everyday, but I have the peace of mind knowing I will see her one day a year (sometimes two). I have learned a lot throughout this adoption journey and I have made mistakes in the past regarding that relationship. But I feel like I have grown up and matured through all of that and I now realize that I need to count my blessings."
Catelynn and her hubby's love story played out for the world to see on 16 and Pregnant. The highschool sweethearts had been dating for three years, since the seventh grade, when Catelynn found out she was expecting. The lovebirds have since gone through many ups and downs, but they celebrated 12 years together last summer, and have now been married for more than two years. Catelynn and Tyler also welcomed their daughter named Novalee Reign in 2015, so fans couldn't be happier for them!
