Catelynn Lowell Gets A “Precious” Belated Christmas Gift From Daughter Carly
She got an extra special belated Christmas gift! For Teen Mom OG star Catelynn Lowell, 2017 was a year full of ups and downs and the roughest part came in November when she announced that she would be returning to rehab to seek help because she had been experiencing suicidal thoughts. But now that Catelynn has completed six weeks of treatment, she’s back home in Michigan and she’s getting to open some of her Christmas presents — and she got an extra special one from her first born daughter, Carly!
Cate took to Instagram to share a photo of the gift tag, which looks like it was filled out by Carly herself! “To: Catelynn, From: Carly. Love you, Merry Christmas,” the card read, in what seemed to be the seven-year-old’s handwriting.
“Most precious thing ever!!” Cate captioned the photo, adding a crying face emoji and two red heart emojis. Fans flooded the comments, giving Cate words of encouragement and comforting her during what is probably a bittersweet moment for her.
“She will always be your daughter,” one fan wrote. “You made the most selfless decision — you put her needs first. Years from now when you have a relationship with her you will look back at the tough times and see it was all worth it. When she is able to understand all that you sacrificed she will come to you one day and thank you.”
Catelynn and her husband Tyler Baltierra documented their journey to teen parenthood on MTV’s 16 and Pregnant, and they were open about their decision to place Carly for adoption. Cate and Ty chose to have an open adoption with Carly’s adoptive parents Brandon and Teresa Davis, which has also come with its own fair share of difficulty over the years. But despite all of the heartache and frustration, Brandon and Teresa allowed Cate and Ty to reunite with Carly in what was sure to be an emotional visit earlier this year.
