Major shade alert! Carole Radziwill announced that she was walking away from Real Housewives of New York on July 25, revealing that she’s “thrilled to leave frenemies behind.” And it looks like her cryptic remark was directed towards her co-star Bethenny Frankel.

“Carole decided not to return to the show because of the toxic, negative, and depressing environment that Bethenny created,” a source close to the cast tells In Touch exclusively about their ongoing rift, which has recently grown more tense. “Bethenny is toxic, a liar, and a bully. Every year she picks a victim and wants to destroy them. This year it was Carole. Bethenny wants to discredit everyone for their accomplishments. Most of her cast mates were very successful before the show, but Bethenny is only successful because of the show.”

Carole announced that she was ready to bid adieu to the hit Bravo show and also explained why in a statement to The Daily Dish. “After six seasons on Bravo’s RHONY, I have decided to return to what I do best —  journalism and producing,” she informed her fans. “I am sure this does not come as a surprise to any of the viewers, all of whom have been supportive, encouraging, and kind. My original curiosity about reality television has waned over the years, and I am focusing on TV and writing projects that better suit my more steady temperament.”

“I have worked with amazing producers, made great friends, and I’m thrilled to leave frenemies behind,” Carole concluded. “I will remember this entire experience with delight, humor, and a veracious accuracy.” Carole and Bethenny reportedly haven’t been on the best terms after their falling out this Spring, but Carole still tried to make the most out of her time on the show, by running in the NYC marathon and writing an essay for Cosmopolitan. Bethenny hasn’t said a peep about Carole leaving, but it looks like they’ll get the time apart they may need!
