Cardi B Shows Off New Neck and Lip Piercings on Instagram: Starting a Trend?
Bling, bling! Cardi B put her edgy new piercings on full display in an Instagram Story posted on June 2, after her performance at the Hot 97 Summer Jam music festival. The “Bodak Yellow” rapper showed off her horizontal lip bar and the diamond stud on her neck while chatting with fans.
The former Love & Hip Hop star, 26, has flaunted her lip ring before, but now her followers got a glimpse at her wild new dermal piercing. In case you haven’t heard of that before, it’s a “piercing that lies on any flat surface of the body and is held in place with a dermal anchor that is installed underneath the skin.” Due to the technique, it shows only the stud on the surface of the skin.
Back in February, Cardi debuted the sparkling piercing on her pout. While in Los Angeles, Cardi randomly stopped by a local tattoo shop and decided to get something unique. “Guess who came in to the shop today so random @iamcardib to get her bottom lip piercing at @cityofangelstattoos so blessed I had the privilege to meet her at my shop,” tattoo artist Luis Vega wrote on his Instagram. And get this, the rapper’s piercing didn’t even break the bank as it only cost her $25.
As fans may know, Cardi also has a tongue piercing, which makes an appearance when she talks and raps. One more fun fact: she had the back of her neck pierced when she was in high school.
Aside from starting piercing trends, Cardi has been on a roll with her career. The artist won a Grammy for her album Invasion of Privacy in February and she’ll be starring in the movie Hustlers, which comes out this fall. On top of that, Cardi is enjoying her new role as a mom. She welcomed a daughter with her beau, Offset, in July 2018, so they’ll be celebrating Kulture’s first birthday soon!
