They’re engaged… and related?
Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina has officially confirmed that her and adopted brother Nick Gordon are engaged, but her family has some not-so-nice things to say about it!
On The Houstons On Our Own, an upcoming reality show about Whitney Houston’s family after her death, Bobbi Kristina —nicknamed Krissy by close friends and family— defends the engagement against her less-than-supportive family members.
"We were best friends a long, long, long time ago and now I'm in love with him,” she explains. “It was never anything that these people were saying, incest, none of that. And you guys can take my word for it."
Whitney took Nick in over ten years ago when his parents could no longer care for him and shortly after the music legend's death, Krissy and Nick stepped out as a couple — much to the dismay of Whitney's family members, including sister-in-law Pat Houston.
“One of the hardest challenges I have ever had to face is the fact that these two people say they're engaged,” says Pat, who is also the manager and executor of Whitney's estate. “I don't see him as a lover or boyfriend of Krissy's. I still look at him as a family member."
But Bobbi Kristina says she and Nick have “been through hell and back together,” which is what makes their relationship "so strong."
