Some happy news! Bindi Irwin revealed she officially married longtime boyfriend Chandler Powell in a private ceremony amid the worldwide coronavirus outbreak on March 25.

“We held a small ceremony and I married my best friend. There are no words to describe the amount of love and light in my heart right now,” Bindi, 21, gushed alongside a photo of the newlyweds kissing during their nuptials on Wednesday morning. “We’ve planned this beautiful day for nearly a year and had to change everything, as we didn’t have guests at our wedding.”

The daughter of late TV star Steve Irwin said while “this was a very difficult decision” considering the unprecedented pandemic, it was important for the couple “to keep everyone safe.” Since the deadly virus became widespread across the globe, countries have implemented social distancing measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

“We wish all of our friends and family could have been there with us, however, it’s lovely that we will be able to share photos and videos,” Bindi explained. “Right now, we’re encouraging the world to hold onto hope and love, which will carry us forward during this profound time in history.”

As Bindie, the Jungle Girl star went on about her highly-anticipated nuptials, she revealed some sweet details of how they “celebrated life and reveled in every beautiful moment” at the Australia Zoo gardens. Although friends and family stayed at home, mom Terri Irwin and brother Robert Irwin were both in attendance.

“Mum helped me get ready, Robert walked me down the aisle, Chandler became my husband and together we lit a candle in Dad’s memory,” she gushed. “We shared tears and smiles and love. Thankfully, since we all live at Australia Zoo as a family, we could be there for each other. To everyone reading this — stay safe, social distance and remember LOVE WINS!”

Fans were elated over Bindi and Chandler’s sweet surprise as they flooded her comments sections with heartfelt wishes. “Congratulations 💖 you look beautiful and so happy. Wishing you the most amazing marriage!” one fan wrote, while another echoed, “Congratulations!! Your love story is truly beautiful.” A third user added, “I’m sure your dad was smiling down.”

Although the Crocodile Hunter star couldn’t be there for his daughter’s wedding, Bindi previously opened up about how supportive she thought her dad would be on the day she walked down the aisle. The blonde beauty — who got engaged to Chandler, 23, in July 2019 — shared the sweet sentiment during an event just two months earlier in May.

“You know, dad was so kind where he always said you had to follow your heart and do what you love and I think that that’s really wonderful,” she exclusively shared with Closer Weekly at the time. “And my mom and brother have always been so supportive of me saying you just have to follow your heart through life, so I’m pretty lucky.”

Congratulations, Bindi and Chandler!
