Billy Ray Cyrus Sends Love to Daughter Miley on Birthday After Rumored Family Feud and Falling Out

Despite previous rumors of a falling out between Billy Ray Cyrus and daughter Miley Cyrus, he posted an Instagram tribute in honor of her 32nd birthday.

“Happy Birthday Mile !!! Hope it’s the best one ever !” Billy Ray, 63, wrote alongside a series of photos of himself with his daughter over the years. “(I know I dropped the “y”. That’s what I called @mileycyrus most of her life.”

The “Achy Breaky Heart” singer included a shot of himself gazing at a newborn Miley, as well as a picture of him holding her as a toddler. He also shared an image of the two performing together at the Glastonbury Festival in 2019 and a picture from their days working on Hannah Montana together.

Although Billy Ray and Miley worked together closely in the past, there was speculation that they had a falling out following his divorce from Tish Cyrus. Tish, 57, filed for divorce in April 2022 and revealed that the two had already been separated for two years at that point. She moved on with Dominic Purcell and they tied the knot in August 2023.

Meanwhile, Billy Ray began dating Firerose in 2022 and they had their own wedding in October 2023. Miley served as her mom’s maid of honor and even hosted the nuptials at her home, but she was noticeably absent from Billy Ray’s wedding. Her two younger siblings – Braison Cyrus and Noah Cyrus – did not go to Tish’s wedding.

Billy Ray and Firerose, 35, were embroiled in a messy divorce earlier this year. It was finalized on August 5. Amid the split, a source exclusively told In Touch that the father and daughter were working to repair their relationship.

“Miley loathed Firerose from the get-go when Billy started dating her,” the insider explained. “She told her dad Firerose was an opportunist who was taking him for a ride, and Billy got so angry he and Miley stopped talking to each other. But now he wants Firerose out of his life and Miley back in, and he’s even willing to put up with her ‘I told-you-so’s!”

Noah, 24, and Tish also appear to have fixed their strained relationship. In February, Us Weekly reported that Noah was allegedly “seeing” Dominic, 54, before he and Tish got together. The magazine’s source claimed that Tish started “pursuing” the Prison Break actor, despite knowing that her younger daughter was seeing him. However, in May, Noah honored Tish on her 57th birthday with a post on her Instagram Story.

“Happy birthday mom,” she wrote, along with a throwback photo of the pair. The following month, Tish congratulated Noah after she signed a new contract with IMG Models. “Girl is on [fire emojis],” Tish gushed. “Congrats @noahcyrus @imgmodels.”

Members of the Cyrus family have not specifically addressed rumors of a family feud. However, in a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Miley mentioned her dad, telling the mag, “I worked with my dad forever. That’s how me and my ex-husband [Liam Hemsworth] met each other. I’ve always worked with the people that I love.”
