Bethenny Frankel had a lot more to say about her talk show being canceled other than the fact that she is ‘relieved’.
On Tuesday night’s taping of Watch What Happens Live, Bethenny, who appeared on the show with Ramona Singer, discussed what really went on behind-the-scenes of her show to host Andy Cohen.
“You don’t really know what it’s going to be like until you do it. We were taping two shows a day and it’s very structured,” she said. “I felt edited and diluted and a little bit controlled. And I’m not really great when I’m shackled.”
In mid-February it was announced Bethenny, which averaged 1.1 million viewers per episode, will not return for Season 2 after ratings have dropped.
“I wanted it to get renewed because of how many people are invested in it and because I took pride in it, and I do love doing it,” the 43-year-old host added. “But ultimately...it’s not what I really should be doing. I didn’t love it the way that I thought I would.”
Even though the show will air original episodes through May, Bethenny is looking forward to enjoying the following summer months and focusing on her Skinnygirl business, which will be launching “chips and dips and bars" among other new products this year.
“I really do need a break...I’m full. I’ve been white-knuckling it for so long trying to get somewhere,” the former Real Housewives of New York star mentioned. “I’m really happy and I’m so grateful and it’s been such a great journey but I really do need to check out and take a break.”
Once Bethenny does get a break, we look forward to seeing her on vaca with her rumored beau financier Michael “Mac” Cerussi!
“I am dating. I am dating, and I am happy. I’m good,” Bethenny added. “I finally feel a little liberation, a little bit of freedom — just a little bit of not feeling so bad.”
