She’s got a new outlook on life in 2018! For former Dog the Bounty Hunter star Beth Chapman, 2017 was a pretty rough year. Back in September, Beth was diagnosed with Stage 2 throat cancer, and she had to act quickly in order to treat the disease. She underwent surgery to remove the T2 tumor from her throat and even though she recovered well and is currently cancer-free, she took to Instagram to reveal that she’s still coming to terms with the scars that she’s left with after her cancer battle.

“Embracing the unembraceable #newbeginnings #newyear,” the 50-year-old wrote in the caption of a photo that showed off her scars. “Prior to my surgery, I had no lines, no wrinkles, a perfect neck if you will. It has been very hard to look at this in the mirror, it serves as a constant reminder of something I’d love to forget. However some life lessons you should never forget, only learn from them and learn to embrace them so today I reveal my worst battle scar and know that things will get better in #2018 #secondchances #DogandBeth #battlescars.”

Fans flooded the comments section with words of encouragement and many of them praised Beth for her bravery to show off her scars. “You are even more beautiful! I look at my scar as a reminder that I kicked breast cancer’s a–!! Don’t ever be ashamed to show your scar. It just shows how powerful you really are!” one fan wrote, and another commented, “You are a brave, strong woman! You are a survivor, wear it as a badge of honor. You are beautiful inside and out.”

This is the first time Beth has shown off her scars since undergoing surgery since she usually tries to find a fashionable way to hide them with either scarves, chokers or turtlenecks.
