They’ve come a long way. It’s been six months since former Hollywood couple Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner finalized their divorce, but they exes are extremely amicable. Just one day after they were spotted laughing together at their children’s soccer game, the 46-year-old took to Instagram to share a heartfelt message to his ex-wife and his mother in honor of Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12.

“Happy Mother’s Day to the two incredible mothers who have shown me the meaning of love,” the Justice League actor wrote in the caption of a photo of Jen, 47, with his mother, Christine Anne Boldt.

As a gift to two of the most important women in his life, Ben decided to donate to two charities that are very important to him. “Today I am making donations to two organizations in their honor: @cut50’s #DignityForIncarceratedWomen campaign, a national initiative to help reduce the prison population while making our communities safer,” he explained.

The second charity is “@NationalBailout,” he added, “an incredible organization that works with groups all over the country on Mother’s Day to bail out black moms and caregivers, provide supportive services and fellowship opportunities to help end money bail and pretrial detention.”

It seems like Ben, Jen and Christine have been enjoying their Mother’s Day weekend together as a family. On Saturday, May 11, the trio were all smiles as they attended a soccer game for Ben and Jen’s children: Violet, 13, Seraphina, 10, and Samuel, 7.

Ben and Jen first met in 2001 on the set of the hit film Pearl Harbor, and it didn’t take long for the A-listers to spark a romance. They fell in love in 2003 when they worked together again on the set of Daredevil, and they tied the knot just two years later. They announced their split nearly a decade later, just one day before what would have been their 10th wedding anniversary.
