Ben Affleck ‘Leans’ on Ex-Wife Jennifer Garner Amid J. Lo Divorce: ‘He Loves Being Looked After’

Ben Affleck is leaning on ex-wife Jennifer Garner more than ever following his split from estranged wife Jennifer Lopez. As they move into 2025 with tons of plans in the works already, pals say he’d be totally lost without her.

“Ben leans on her for everything, he’s got his own place but he’s still at her house all the time for family dinners and she never fails to send him home with a care package of food,” a source exclusively tells In Touch. “She’s very concerned about his health, to the point where she reminds him when he needs to see the doctor and the dentist and even sends him vitamins to take because she’s convinced he doesn’t get enough healthy food when she’s not cooking for him.”

The insider notes that while “some men would find it annoying,” Ben, 52, loves the special care from his ex. 

“He loves being looked after by her. He goes to her whenever he has a big career or life decision to make for her advice,” the source adds. 

The Good Will Hunting star is newly single after second wife J. Lo, 55, filed for divorce in August. The former couple reunited in April 2021, nearly two decades after calling off their first engagement in the early 2000s. Ben popped the question for the second time one year later and it seemed they finally got their happily ever after. 

“Saturday night while at my favorite place on earth (in the bubble bath), my beautiful love got on one knee and proposed. I was taken totally off guard and just looked in his eyes smiling and crying at the same time trying hard to get my head around the fact that after 20 years this was happening all over again, I was quite literally speechless and he said, ‘is that a yes?’” the Maid In Manhattan star shared at the time. “I said YES of course that’s a YES.”

The pair eloped to Las Vegas on a whim that July, and followed it up with a spectacular wedding celebration at his Georgia estate on August 20, 2022. 

While Ben has turned to his first wife, 52, for comfort amid his pending divorce, In Touch’s source claims “this isn’t new.”

“Even when he was married to J. Lo he’d got to Jen for her advice, which as you can imagine did not do his marriage any favors,” the insider claims. “But now he’s single again and free to talk to her 10 times a day if he wants, and there are days he does.”

The Air actor and the 13 Going on 30 star recently spent the Thanksgiving holiday together with their three children volunteering in Los Angeles with the Midnight Mission organization. 

“Today, we were honored to have Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner join us at The Midnight Mission for Thanksgiving!” the organization wrote on its official Instagram account on November 28. “Their kindness, warmth, and dedication brought so much joy to our Skid Row community.”
