Basketball Wives star Brittish Williams pleaded with a federal judge to reconsider his decision to keep her locked up for four years due to her good behavior while behind bars, In Touch can exclusively report.

The former reality star, who is currently incarcerated at a FCI Waseca, a low security federal correctional institution in Minnesota, filed a handwritten motion on January 4.

The motion asked the judge to consider reducing her prison sentence. Back in October 2024, Brittish was sentenced to 48 months behind bars followed by five years’ probation.

The court also ordered Brittish to pay back $565,000. Brittish had reached a plea deal with prosecutors in May 2023 as part of the case accusing her of tax, bank and wire fraud.

The reality star was upset that she was hit with a four-year prison term despite working out the deal with the government. Brittish started her sentence in early 2024. She filed an appeal of the decision.

Her lawyer at the time argued, “Brittish Williams appeals her 48-month sentence imposed following a guilty plea. The district court calculated a higher guidelines range than that explicitly agreed to by the parties, and failed to acknowledge [Brittish’s] arguments that the negotiated range in the plea agreement should be given some consideration as it was explicitly a basis for the entry of the plea.”

Brittish even accused the judge of throwing the book at her because she’s famous.

Her lawyer said, “The district court also improperly sentenced [Brittish] based on her status as a reality tv celebrity, finding that she was more worthy of punishment because she failed to live up to the court’s ideal of a role model that it believed should be fulfilled by all public figures. This resulted in a sentencing process that [Brittish] now contends was unreasonable and she asks that her sentence thus be vacated.”

Her lawyer added, “Regardless of what the court privately believed a celebrity should be, it is inappropriate to punish a criminal defendant for failing to live up to that standard that it would not impose upon the average defendant. [Brittish] was not a public official or civil servant. She wasn’t holding herself out as a role model or moral guide.”

The government opposed the appeal.

They argued Brittish received a fair sentence.

As In Touch first reported, the United States Court of Appeals denied the reality star’s appeal. The order said, “The district court did not abuse its discretion” when considering Brittish’s “celebrity” during sentencing.

Now, weeks later, Brittish is attempting to convince the court to let her out earlier than her expected release date of February 2027.

She said, “I have had clear conduct since I have been incarcerated. I have created and [illegible] courses in the education department, to teach women how to create businesses.”

She added, “I’m currently enrolled in the [illegible] program. I’m on the rec committee for the prison. I’m actively programming and trying to better myself and women within the prison.”

Brittish said, “I have not had any disciplinary issues/no incident reports etc. I’m currently on the waiting list for [illegible] courses.” She said she has also made payments each month while locked up. The reality star asked the court to reduce her sentence.

The court shut down Brittish’s motion earlier this month.
