She has an explanation, OK? Former Teen Mom star Jenelle Evans’ mom, Barbara Evans, posted a photo of some of her grandkids on Instagram, and one commenter pointed out that her granddaughter, Ensley, didn’t seem particularly pleased in the shot. In fact, they noted that the little girl looked “so sad” in the pic, which is especially telling since her parents, Jenelle, 27, and David Eason don’t currently have custody of her. The Kids

Jenelle and David, 30, have five kids between them. Jenelle has 9-year-old son Jace with her ex-boyfriend Andrew Lewis and 4-year-old Kaiser with ex-fiancé Nathan Griffith.

David has an 11-year-old daughter named Maryssa as well as a son named Kaden from previous relationships. Jenelle and David share their 2-year-old daughter Ensley.

Where Are They?

However, the couple currently doesn’t have custody of any of those kids. For a while now, David hasn’t had custody of Kaden and Jenelle didn’t have custody of Jace — her mom, Barb, did.

Lost

The duo lost custody of the rest of the children in a recent legal battle. Jenelle lost custody of Kaiser just days after the Columbus County Department of Social Services in North Carolina opened a case against her and her husband following his dog killing incident.

Removed

In mid-May, CPS removed Ensley and Jenelle’s stepdaughter, Maryssa, from her home with David as well. It’s possible the agency believed the kids not being cared for properly there after David shot and killed Jenelle’s dog, Nugget.

Poor Kids

Jenelle told Us Weekly that Kaiser and Ensley “were inside and just got done playing” when David killed their dog, while his 11-year-old daughter, Maryssa, “immediately went to her bedroom and didn’t come out all night until the next day.” Poor kids.

Custody

After all of that, Barbara now has custody of Jenelle’s son Jace (who she was already caring for before this incident) and Ensley.

Grandma Time

On June 1, Barbara took them for a day at the beach and shared a photo to Instagram. “Having fun at Coast Guard Day, eating hot dogs, frozen ice, and learning about rescue equipment,” she wrote beside a picture of Jace and Ensley climbing on a boat.

Happy Kids

The little ones all seemed happy during the trip, which also included their cousin. On June 16, she posted another photo that included both kids and their cousin, too.

Myrtle Beach

Barbara posted a photo of the kids on social media and wrote, “Myrtle Beach and I was not at the Winery. Cardboard cutouts all over Broadway at the beach 🌞.”

“So Sad”

At least one person noted that Ensley looked decidedly displeased in the photo. They commented on Barbara’s post, “Poor Ensley looks so sad!!”

Shot Down

Barbara quickly shot back, “She’s hot, tired and on our way to eat.” She also noted that Jenelle’s brother Colin was in the photo, too.

Trolling

A few people seemed to troll that response in other comments made to Barbara’s post. “Ensley looks like she’s worried about the potential crisis in the Middle East,” one person commented. “Poor little thing. It’s great how I can read minds on IG though, right?”

LOL

“She was probably just tired and [needs] a nap!!” another person replied. “LOL I’m 19 years old and I would feel the same way she does 😂.”

Not Right

But that wasn’t the only comment where someone mentioned being concerned for Ensley or noted that she seemed sad. “I can’t help it … Ensley looks so unhappy 😢,” someone else replied. “Something is not right!”

Lucky

Several commenters seemed grateful to Barbara for taking care of the kids during this tough time. “Those kids are so lucky to have you in their lives!” someone wrote. “Where should they be if you weren’t there? 😔”
