It was the story that had people around the globe on the edge of their seats. Everyone was led to believe that six-year-old Falcon Heene, also known as “Balloon Boy,” was stuck inside of a gas balloon that floated as high as 7,000 feet. But now, almost a decade later, we’re wondering, whatever happened to him? Watch the video below to see what Balloon Boy is up to these days!

In case you’re not already familiar with the story, Falcon’s parents actually fooled the world into thinking that he was stuck in a homemade helium balloon that flew as high as 7,000 feet and landed 90 miles from the family's home. The story was reported by major news outlets and it quickly garnered tons of attention worldwide. Before we knew it, the child earned the nickname “Balloon Boy” on social media and even celebrities were putting their two cents in. After an hour of suspense, the balloon finally landed and to everyone’s surprise, Falcon was nowhere to be found. But we didn’t have to worry for long, because later that same day, he was discovered hiding in the attic of his own home.

Though Falcon's dad never admitted to the whole thing being staged, his wife reportedly did in court. Both served jail time for misleading authorities, and it didn't help that they had previously appeared on Wife Swap, and were in talks with TLC to get a reality show. They seemed desperate for fame, and he parents would stop at nothing to get it.

While the parents moved the family to Florida for a "fresh start," they haven't stayed out of the limelight. Falcon and his two brothers now have a metal band called the Heene Boyz, who have released four albums. They're still controversial, as they support Donald Trump, releasing a song called "The Youth of America for Trump." Falcon celebrated his 14th birthday on New Years Eve, and all three of the boys seem happy and healthy, enjoy playing video games, and spend almost all of their time together. They even started a YouTube channel!
