And counting! Austin Forsyth Joy-Anna Duggar’s husband — said in a recent TLC Me video that he’d like to have a daughter one day. Specifically, he said he “always wanted a boy first” growing up, and that it’s great that they already have little Gideon, but that he’d “be just as happy if we had a girl, and hopefully one of these days we will.” Do you have something to tell us, Joystin?

The video featured Joy, 21, and Austin, 25, talking about their son in celebration of his first birthday. Gideon Martyn Forsyth was born on February 23, 2018, measuring 22 inches long and weighing 10 pounds, 3 ounces. At the time, Joy and Austin said they were “blessed beyond measure” and that “looking at our child for the first time was such an incredible moment! God is so good, and we are so thankful.” OK, that’s actually sort of lovely. In the TLC video, they kind of seem to have this whole parenting thing down. Of course, they have had a year of practice now.

Austin also said in the video that Gideon is his “little buddy,” and admitted that this son’s first year of life has been “a lot of work.” However, both he and Joy agreed that Gideon is pretty chill compared to most babies. No wonder they wouldn’t mind another kid! Just watch, the next one will be a terror just to make up for Gideon. That’s how it works, right?

Joy added in the clip that she loves being a #boymom, but that she’s sure she’d love being a mama to a little girl as well. “He’s a manly boy and I get to teach him how to play in the dirt and do all kinds of stuff that boys do.” OK, so apparently girls don’t do that “stuff”? How did Joy manage to learn, then?!

It will be interesting to see if Joy and Austin indeed have an announcement to make about having another baby in the near future. This is the Duggar family after all. They can’t go too long without welcoming another “precious” addition, right? Gotta keep those Counting On ratings up!
