Was Dean McDermott Spotted With His Ex-Wife?

Dean was spotted having drinks with ex-wife Mary Jo Eustace in May 2022, which sent rumors flying that he and Tori are over for good.

Dean and Mary Jo were seen hanging out in San Francisco ahead of their son’s college graduation. “LOOK WHO’S HERE!!!!” Jack McDermott captioned a video of his parents which was shared to his Instagram Story on May 25.

The following day, Dean shared a photo of his own. “So proud of this young man!!” he wrote alongside a photo of the proud parents posing with their 23-year-old son following his graduation from San Francisco State University. “He graduated from SFSU today!! So grateful to take part in this celebration and journey with Jack and Mary Jo.” 

Missing from the celebration, however, was Jack’s stepmom, Tori. 

Months later, Dean continued to spark split rumors when he shared a photo with Mary Jo via Instagram on October 25, 2022. “Reunited??? #Ex’s&Uh-oh’s,” he captioned the snap, which captured Mary Jo resting her hand on Dean’s shoulder.

Mary Jo took the rumors one step further when she shared a similar photo and wrote, “Reunited?❤️ @imdeanmcdermott @torispelling #Ex’s&Uh-Ohs!”

Why Do Fans Think Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott Split?

The Beverly Hills, 90210 actress sparked rumors of marital woes after she was spotted without her wedding ring during an outing with her children in March 2021. 

Three months later, during an appearance on SiriusXM’s “Jeff Lewis Live,” she opened up about sleeping in a separate bed from her husband of 16 years. 

“You know what? Right now, my kids and dogs sleep in my bed,” she explained when asked how her marriage was going. “Since he left [to film Chopped Canada] – he was gone for six months – filming in another country, they all stayed with me.”

In addition to the separate beds, Dean was noticeably missing from the family’s holiday card that year, though Tori claims he “was filming.” 

The True Tori alum shared a photo of herself with her five children and their “farm” to Instagram in November 2021, leaving fans to wonder about her husband’s whereabouts. 

“Dean must be ‘working’ out of town and couldn’t get home in time for the annual Christmas picture,” one fan remarked in the comments. “Fact: Dean McDermott was filming his new feature film in Canada,” Tori confirmed.

Despite their relationship struggles, Dean confirmed their relationship after sharing a touching tribute to his wife for International Women’s Day in March 2022. 

“Happy International Women’s Day to these incredibly smart, creative, strong, fierce and funny women,” he wrote alongside photos of his wife and daughters Stella and Hattie. “I’m so blessed to have you in my life. I love you So Much!!”

In addition to his loving post, Dean’s Instagram bio shows his affection for his wife as it reads, “Married to the love of my life Tori Spelling.”

Dean appeared to shut down split rumors once again when he flirted with Tori in a clip for her new show, @Home With Tori. In the teaser shared by Us Weekly on July 21, their entire family enjoyed a backyard screening of Tori’s film acting debut, Troop Beverly Hills. “Wait! Do you see me, you guys? That’s me!” she excitedly asked her family. Dean then lovingly replied, “You’re so cute, babe.”

Tori continued to give insight into their marriage and shared how they parent their five kids while speaking to People in an interview published on September 6.

“Dean and I definitely have different parenting strategies,” she told the outlet. “I’m kind of the feelings mom, and he’s more procedural. He’s really great at timing and planning. I’m not good with that.”

After noting that their kids “need both of those [approaches] to make it work,” she added, “You really do need that to be a complete human. You need both worlds.”

She spoke about their parenting styles just five days after Tori and Dean were spotted together out in public for the first time in nearly a year. They celebrated Labor Day with their kids and Tori’s mom, Candy Spelling, on the beach in Calabasas, California, on September 2.

Dean continued to shut down split rumors when he shared an update about how his marriage to Tori is going in November 2022. “Everything is amazing. Everything’s great. We’re having a lot of fun,” he told The Sun in an interview published November 14. “We’re loving the cold weather and then getting ready for the craziness of Thanksgiving and Christmas.”

“I’m excited … We live in a cul-de-sac and this year we’re gonna do a big potluck with all our neighbors,” he added of the family’s holiday plans. “So really looking forward to that.”

Dean then joked that he’s “so sorry” to any women that are romantically interested in him because he is “off the market.”

In January 2023, Tori spent rumors swirling once again when she admitted to spending $400 “in the course of two days” on Denise Richards‘ OnlyFans.

“Unless you subscribe, you can’t get it. So, of course, I subscribed under a fake name,” Tori said during an interview on SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live. “It’s riveting, because they’re like, ‘Hey, we might show you this in this shower.’ And I just want to see. It’s my friend. Like, ‘Hey, how far is she going?'”

Despite ongoing breakup rumors, Tori, Dean and their children attended the iHeartRadio’s ALTer EGO concert in Los Angeles on January 14, 2023.

The couple later made a public appearance when they were spotted on a double date with Denise and her husband, Aaron Phypers, in February 2023.

The group appeared to be in good spirits as they spent the night out in Malibu together.

Did Dean Announce His Split From Tori?

Unfortunately, the happy reunion didn’t last as Dean seemingly confirmed their split in a June 2023 Instagram post. 

“It’s with great sadness and a very very heavy heart that after 18 years together and 5 amazing children, that @torispelling and I have decided to go our separate ways and start a new journey of our own,” Dean wrote via Instagram on June 17. “We will continue to work together as loving parents and guide and love our children through this difficult time. We ask that you all respect our privacy as we take this time to surround our family with love and work our way through this. Thank you all for your support and kindness.”

However, hours after the initial post, the Canada native deleted the statement announcing the pair’s separation.
