Staying Close? Jersey Shore’s Angelina Sends Sammi Sweetheart Love Amid Cast Feud

Are they keeping in touch? Angelina Pivarnick may have some major beef with her current Jersey Shore: Family Vacation castmates, but she still has love for former costar Sammi ‘Sweetheart’ Giancola. After the MTV alum shared a summery new photo on Wednesday, August 26, her old pal left a sweet comment.

“I don’t want summer to end,” Sammi, 33, wrote on Instagram with a weary face emoji. In the picture, she donned a black bikini with a purple sarong as she cooled off in the waves. Fans gushed over the shot in the comments — and so did Angelina, 34. “I love the [beach],” she wrote.

Recently, Angelina butted heads with Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, Jenni “JWoww” Farley, Deena Cortese and Vinny Guadagnino. The Couples Therapy alum’s drama with her costars can be traced back to season 1 of Jersey Shore, but it was reignited when Snooki, JWoww and Deena gave a controversial toast at her wedding in November 2019. When the episode aired in June 2020, it ignited a whole new feud between the celebrities.

On Twitter, Angelina called Vinny a peasant as she dubbed herself a queen. Deena accused Angelina of “playing the victim” as JWoww and Snooki were inundated with hate. The Lashelina Lashes founder clapped back that she’s been dealing with “death threats” since 2009 and still gets them to this day.

Amid all of the drama, however, Angelina seems to have maintained a good relationship with Sammi, even after Sammi fell out of touch with the Jersey Shore gang. In October 2019, a source told Us Weekly the former soccer player “hadn’t responded” when her old castmates reached out. In recent months, however, it seems she’s working on building those relationships back up — at least on a casual level.

In December, the New Yorker dropped some hearts in the comments of her old friend’s holiday post. In April, she complimented Sammi’s TikTok dance skills. “Killed it, girl,” she wrote. The New Jersey native responded with a heart, a crying-laughing emoji and a smiling face, seemingly showing they were cool.

Their friendship goes beyond casual comments. In December, Angelina even suggested that Sammi should be the one to replace Snooki now that she’s retired from the franchise. “I said this in the beginning — like, years ago — that [Sammi] should return,” she told Us Weekly. Unfortunately, the bride-to-be is “living her best life” with fiancé Christian Biscardi away from the cameras, but at least it sounds like she’s got a good friend she can turn to if she ever needs any wedding planning advice.
