They might not be staying in Hollywood much longer. Angelina Jolie is interested in relocating her whole family to Africa permanently, an insider exclusively revealed to In Touch Weekly. “She doesn’t play by anyone’s rules, especially not Brad’s, and she wants her kids raised out of the country,” said a family insider. “Her plan is for the house there to be their new home base.”

Two of Angie’s kids, Zahara and Shiloh, were born on the continent — in Ethiopia and Namibia, respectively. And the 44-year-old wants her children to be true citizens of the world. “I would love to live abroad and will do so as soon as my children are 18,” the actress told Harper’s BAZAAR in an interview on November 5. “Right now, I’m having to base where their father chooses to live.” Apparently, neither Brad, 55, nor Angelina is totally pleased with their current custody arrangement.

The Fight Club actor sees Angelina’s plans to move as a “manipulation tactic,” the source said. “He wouldn’t be surprised if stating publicly that she’s building a home in Africa is some kind of ploy. She knows Brad can’t just pick up and move there as well. And if he doesn’t let the children go, well, it makes him look like the bad guy.”

Brad “is already feeling like he’s living a world apart from his children,” the insider added. As Angelina has journeyed around the world with the kids to promote Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, her ex has had to watch from the sidelines. “Angie is definitely relishing their time together, and she loves winning the ‘fun parent award,'” the insider continued. “Brad misses his kids desperately, and it feels like Angie is just rubbing salt in his wounds.”

“He would never deny his children the luxury of wanting to live abroad,” the source said, but added that the actor is “heartbroken” at the idea — and his feelings likely aren’t helped by his current strained bond with his son Maddox. “Moving to Africa, putting that much distance between them, would ruin any chance Brad has of rebuilding those relationships,” the source dished. “This is just another way for Angelina to take control of the kids. But Brad will never give up on them.”
